Sailor Moon x Uniqlo 2019 T-Shirts Review

The Sailor Moon x Uniqlo 2019 t-shirts released worldwide yesterday, August 23. There are a total of 8 different designs, all based on the manga art. They are made of 100% cotton.

The shirts were sold out online as soon as they were released in the US. More stock were added later during the day, but there seems to be only three designs available at the time of this review. Since I wasn't able to purchase them online, I went to the store instead. The difference between the physical store and online is that the website has more sizes available. The stores carried sizes XS-XL, while the online shop had XXS-XXL.

One thing to note is that these shirts run big, or rather, run wide. You will definitely need to size down. I normally wear US sizes XS-S, and the XS still felt a little big for me. Other than that, I really love the prints and quality. The shirts are really well made, and some words and symbols are shiny! It's hard to tell by looking at photos, which is why I didn't realize it until I saw the shirts in person.

My verdict: I love any original illustration by Naoko Takeuchi, so I decided to get every t-shirt released. My favorite two are the one with Sailor Moon & Luna, and one of Serenity & Endymion on the backside. The t-shirts have great quality, and there are a wide range of sizes available. I'm not used to the boxy cut and 'extended' sleeves, but if you choose the right size, I think they look fine. Just make sure you size down! These shirts sell out fast, so you'll have to check the site periodically to see if anything comes back in stock.
